Job Summary: As a Clerk of Works, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that construction projects adhere to design specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Your keen attention to detail and construction expertise will be crucial in maintaining the highest level of craftsmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
- Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any discrepancies or issues in construction work.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of construction progress, deviations from plans, and any necessary corrective actions taken.
- Communication: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to convey project expectations and ensure alignment.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and propose solutions to construction challenges promptly to avoid delays and maintain project timelines.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on project status, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to address any issues related to construction quality and compliance.
- Training and Development: Stay abreast of industry best practices and standards, and share knowledge with the project team as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Clerk of Works or a related role in the construction industry, over 10 years experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction management or a related field.
