The window replacement at the Vo-Tech included replacement of the existing window systems, abatement of asbestos sealants and new windows systems and sealants. The new windows have energy efficient low E, argon filled, tempered insulating glazing and within thermally broken aluminum frames.
The roof replacement consisted of removing the current membrane and insulating material followed by the installation of a new roof. 148,000 square feet of the 164,000 square feet was replaced.
The two existing boilers at the Lower Campus of the Vo-Tech were replaced with one new gas fired hot water boiler and one new dual fired boiler. The one existing boiler at the Middle Campus was replaced with a new steam boiler with new steam and condensate headers and branches designed and provided. The two existing boilers at the Upper Campus were replaced with one gas fired hot water boiler and one dual fired boiler.
In coordination with the new GRP boilers, modification to the existing combustion air intake, supply and return piping, hot water circulating pumps, cold water piping, expansion tanks, insulation, new controls, and related work will be completed as part of the EMS project. The existing combustion/ventilation louver to the boiler room has been modified to meet the latest code and the existing water storage tank was replaced.
